HR Pros: Refresh Your Skills on LinkedIn Learning with New SHRM & HRCI Continuing Education Programs

In any profession, keeping your skills up to date is paramount. By continuously learning and staying on the pulse of the latest trends and technologies, you can improve in your job, advance your career, and secure a higher salary.

That’s why today we’re adding four new continuing education programs to LinkedIn Learning: Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), Human Resources Certification Institute (HCRI), International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). This is in addition to Project Management International (PMI) and National Association of State Boards of Accounting (NASBA), which we launched in 2014.

With these new programs, professionals can earn credits to maintain a SHRM, HRCI, IIBA or CompTIA certification or license and do so in an interactive and engaging way by learning from other learners and instructors through our Q&A feature that’s part of each course. As the courses are broken into bite-size pieces, learners can also watch the courses how and when they want, whether it’s during their commute, in between meetings or even audio-only.

HR professionals are committed to learning - and can now earn credits too!

We’ve seen that HR professionals are deeply committed to learning on LinkedIn. From August 2018 to August 2019, HR course viewership increased almost 60% year-over-year. Today, not only can HR pros watch over 100 courses on HR related topics, but they can now earn the credits needed to maintain their HR certifications on LinkedIn Learning.

This can make a big difference. By maintaining certifications, HR pros can expand knowledge, refresh skills and even boost pay. Data shows they are also likely to be paid a third more with an HR certification!

We’re also excited to share today that we’ve uncovered the key topics that HR professionals are learning this year. And the result is twofold: they’re focused on mastering HR foundations and also becoming more strategic. Take a look at the top five courses HR pros watched this year:

  1. Organizational Learning and Development

  2. Interviewing Techniques

  3. Human Resources Foundations

  4. Creating a Culture of Learning

  5. Strategic Human Resources

With today’s new program launches, HR professionals will now have access to 45 courses that can be applied for SHRM Professional Development Credits and HRCI Recertification Credits. All four new Continuing Education programs will be available to all learners today.
